Abstract
Heavily utilization of carbon-rich fossil fuels, coal, oil and natural gas arguably contributes to the greenhouse effect, which causes a series of social and environment problems. Consequently, the “carbon peak” and “carbon neutral” has come into global focus. It has been confirmed that hydrogenation reaction is among the most important conversion of CO2 for reutilization. An overview of the global research progress of hydrogenation of CO2 to fuel products of methanol and C2+ alcohols is provided. The catalyst develop progress, reaction mechanism, and the planting development are described in detail and the possible research directions in the future are proposed and expected.
