Abstract

The leaf, petiole and stem segments of Emmenopterys henryi Oliv. were used for the induction of embryogenic callus. To alleviate callus browning in subculture of callus, anti-browning agents were screened. Results showed that petioles sterilized by 75% alcohol for 60 s and 0.2% HgCl₂ for 15 min successively were optimal for embryonic callus induction. The optimum formula for embryogenic callus induction and callus browning inhibition during subculture were decided.
