Abstract
Petroleum hydrocarbons (PHs) are a kind of global pollutants that are difficult to degrade. The remediation of PHs contaminated soil has always been a challenging issue faced by environmentalists. Microbial immobilization technology (MIT) has the advantages of high efficiency, stability, low cost and environmental friendliness, and has shown great application potential in soil remediation. Research on remediation of PHs contaminated soil by MIT has received extensive attention and yielded fruitful results. MIT has become an effective way to improve the microbial degradation of PHs pollution in soil. Research progress of MIT was discussed in this paper. The different characteristics of carrier materials, microorganisms, immobilization methods and influencing factors during immobilization, as well as their influence on the immobilization effect were summarized. The research status and development trend of MIT for the remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon degradation pollution in soil were expounded.
