    Abstract: The ever-growing market of new energy system and electronics has triggered continue research into energy storage devices, and the design of electrode materials and the energy storage performance-improving techniques, especially titanium dioxide (TiO2), have also been extensively investigated. The different crystal structures, electrochemical properties, and the recent process of TiO2 in energy storage, as well as the challenges and opportunities of the mechanistic research on TiO2 are discussed. The recent process of conductivity enhancement through structure design of TiO2 provides fundamental insights into the energy storage of TiO2 is highlighted.
